The mainnet HCU has been postponed to Thursday, 13th June 8:00 AM Pacific (3:00 PM UTC) (instead of Tuesday).

Flow mainnet will undergo a height co-ordinated upgrade (HCU) on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 8:00 AM Pacific (3:00 PM UTC)

The upgrade will NOT cause any network downtime except for transaction execution being paused on mainnet for a few minutes while the execution nodes restart.

The upgrade will introduce the following two changes to the Flow Virtual Machine:

1. Add support for the 'dependencyCheck' in preparation for the Cadence 1.0 launch
The 'dependencyCheck` allows the chain to track contracts which have not yet been staged for Cadence 1.0 upgrade. For more information see this pull request - https://github.com/onflow/flow-go/pull/5908/files.
The service account contract will also be updated that day right before or after the HCU (see forum post - https://forum.flow.com/t/upgrade-coming-to-flow-service-account-smart-contract-to-track-non-updated-cadence-1-0-user-contracts/6131).

2. Skip throwing an error from GetBlock function in Candence. For more information see this pull request- https://github.com/onflow/flow-go/pull/6022.
